Over 70% of the earth is covered in water. With five oceans and over 100 million lakes and rivers running in every direction. With so much water around the world, though, we occasionally miss a few of your favorite fishing spots. Here at FishAngler, we take pride in our database of Bodies of Water and its benefits to anglers everywhere. That’s why we count on our global userbase to supplement our database when they can’t find their favorite pond, lake or stream.

Follow our step-by-step guide on submitting a report for missing Bodies of Water and helping the FishAngler team make the most complete water database available. For free!

Step 1
  • Report a missing Body of Water, by tapping the “More” icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your FishAngler app screen.

  • Scroll down to “Bodies of Water near me”. This section uses your location to provide a list of waters within your local radius.
  • Next, tap the “+” symbol in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Step 2
  • The next screen prompts you to provide the location of the missing piece of water. Use the Google Map provided to pinpoint the water’s exact location.
  • After locating the water, you can then add the name of the lake, pond, creek or ocean.

  • As some Bodies of Water have multiple names, or unofficial nicknames that are more well known to locals than the official name, we also give you the opportunity to put down alternate names they may go by.
Step 3
  • You can provide any important notes or data points regarding this piece of water, such as information regarding public or private access, or if the water dries out.

  • After adding comments, names and locations, hit “Send Report” and the report goes to the FishAngler Team. We inspect reported missing bodies of water and determine whether they’re missing from our Map or satellite imagery*.

*Note: Because a body of water may be missing from either the satellite, our Map, or both, it’s important for users to check both maps.

Our team adds all missing waters and properly labels them in a case of missing identification, or misidentification. Cases take up to 24 hours, so stay patient as team members work their way through each case.

FishAngler will send you an email confirming the missing body of water. You will also be notified if the water is already present and/or properly labeled.

Check for your favorite lakes, ponds, creeks and other bodies of water and help make FishAngler’s database the best available!
